Division III regionals

McDonald, Maplewood. Both the boys and girls teams will advance. Both teams, barring they don’t have an swine flu dragging any of their teammates down, will make trips down to Scioto Downs.

Independence and St. Thomas Aquinas will also advance for the boys, while Berkshire and Gilmour Academy go for the girls. Independence will win the boys race, while Gilmour Academy takes the girls. However, don’t be surprised if Trinity sneaks up and steals one of the spots for the boys.

There are plenty of good girls runners like Badger’s Sarah Bonar, McDonald’s Sarah Jones, Maplewood’s … the Rockets top four …,  Lowellville’s Monica Ciarinello, Brookfield’s Angie Kirilla and Berkshire’s Alex Bowers. However, I’m going with Gilmour’s Bekka Simko for the win.

As for the boys, there are McDonald’s Patrick Kunkel, Jerry Dugan and Frank Natoli, Maplewood’s Eric Rupe and Tom Bottorff, Gilmour Academy’s Bart Merkel, Independence’s Kyle and Ryan Polman, St. Thomas’ Jordan McKelley, Colonel Crawford’s Carson Britton, Trinity’s Nick Gliha. Take Merkel for the win. He’s just that good.
